Well we had to postpone the last event I organised at Holker due to snow and ice, and the rearranged event had a 2" snowfall during the event. So todays icy winds and occasional snow flurries are an improvement.

My thanks to Holker Estates, Cartmel Racecourse and the Tenant Farmers who were all extremely helpful.

My thanks to the many Lakeland helpers who turned up - it made the organisers job a pleasure to have such a competent team behind him.

I heard several complementary comments about the course planning so thanks on Johns' behalf.

The YBT heat was only contested by 4 teams in the end with Lakeland (891) ahead of Manchester (886) who narrowly beat West Cumberland (885) into third and then South Ribble (836) fourth. If anyone thinks the calculations are wrong then please let me know.

As Lakeland were in the top 5 in the Final of the YBT last year then I believe both Lakeland and Manchester progress to the final in July in Lincolnshire.
